Brewers' Jacob Misiorowski Discusses Start to MLB Career After Setting Rookie Record
Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Jacob Misiorowski has had quite the start to his Major League career.
The 23-year-old tossed five hitless innings in his MLB debut on June 12 and took a perfect game into the seventh inning in his second start on Friday. A home run by Matt Walner ended the streak but Misiorowski still earned the victory in Milwaukee's 17-6 victory over the Minnesota Twins.
"I felt calmer and ready to go compared to the first one," Misiorowski told reporters. "Nerves were going pretty heavy on the first one, so it's good to finally feel the feet under you."

His streak of hitless innings ended at 11, which is the most by a pitcher since 1900. He said that the hot start was "exactly how I ever dreamed of it coming along" and said the experience has been "exciting."
Misiorowski is rated as the Brewers No. 4 prospect and the top pitcher in the system. He has a 6-foot-7, 197-pound frame and throws his fastball over 100 miles per hour.
He had gone 4-2 with a 2.13 ERA in the minor leagues prior to getting the call-up to the Brewers. While he should eventually hit some bumps as he adjusts to the new level, his hot start shows how impactful he could be to the Brewers this season.
Milwaukee is currently 41-35 and are 4.5 games behind the Chicago Cubs in the NL Central. Adding Misiorowski to the mix should provide a boost as the team looks to reach the postseason for the third consecutive season.
