Clemson has reportedly dismissed running back Marquise Henderson from the team for undisclosed reasons, according to Chapel Fowler of The State.

Henderson was a 4-star recruit in the Class of 2025, per 247Sports' Composite Rankings, and was considered the No. 182 player nationally, the No. 14 running back overall and the No. 4 player from the state of South Carolina.

Henderson is now expected to enter the transfer portal.

The running back enrolled early with Clemson back in January but dealt with a hamstring injury throughout spring practices.

"Marquise has not really been able to do much this spring, so we really haven't even gotten the first base with him," head coach Dabo Swinney said after the spring game, per Fowler. "But we know he's a great athlete."

Henderson rushed for 2,122 yards and 26 touchdowns during his senior season at Belton-Honea Path, and also played wide receiver and returner during his high school career, accumulating nearly 8,000 all-purpose yards.

He was part of a Class of 2025 that ranked 26th overall, per 247Sports, and was the Tigers' fourth-highest ranked recruit, behind 5-star defensive lineman Amare Adams, 4-star offensive tackle Brayden Jacobs and 4-star running back Gideon Davidson.

Davidson is expected to have a real chance to earn the starting job this year as a true freshman, though Jay Haynes and David Eziomume are also looming.
