He most recently spent the 2024 season with the Jets, where injuries limited him to four games prior to his release in March.

After missing three games with a bruised toe, Mosley suffered a herniated disc in his neck ahead of Week 8 and sat out the rest of the season.

Newly-hired Jets head coach Aaron Glenn said in March statement that it was "hard to move on from a player like C.J. Mosley, who has given everything of himself to an organization."

Glenn went on to call Mosley "a passionate leader, who put the New York Jets first and got the most out of his teammates."

Mosley originally signed with the Jets in March 2019. He served as a defensive team captain for all five of the seasons he played with the Jets, including his Pro Bowl campaign in 2022.

Although he played just two games in 2019 and opted out of the 2020 campaign, Mosley parted ways with the organization having totaled 504 tackles in 56 games.

He also helped complete a defensive turnaround that saw the Jets go from ranking 32nd in yards allowed in 2021 to top-five rankings over the last three seasons.

A first-round pick by the Ravens out of Alabama, Mosley started out his NFL career by finishing as runner-up for the 2014 Defensive Rookie of the Year. He played 77 games over five seasons with Baltimore, totaling 563 tackles, nine interceptions and 8.6 sacks while earning four All-Pro nods.

Prior to entering the NFL, Mosley helped Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide win back-to-back national championships, including during his SEC co-defensive player of the year campaign in 2013.

He ends his NFL career having totaled 1,083 tackles and 12.0 sacks in 133 career games.
