Angel Reese Responds to Post About Trademarking 'Mebounds,' Becoming Billionaire

Adam WellsJun 14, 2025

Angel Reese is ready to take advantage of some of the trolling about her game and turn it into a marketing opportunity for herself.

The Chicago Sky star responded to a post on X about trademarking the term "mebounds" and becoming the WNBA's first billionaire player by giving a checkmark, wink emoji and tagged her agent.

The term "mebounds" started as a bit aimed at Reese that is meant as a criticism of her shooting woes and how she racks up rebounds off her own misses at the basket.

It's not really an accurate assessment of Reese's ability to dominate the boards. During her rookie season, for instance, her offensive-rebound rate off her own misses was the same was WNBA MVP A'ja Wilson.

Reese didn't seem to be bothered by the "mebounds" term in a response video on TikTok when she said "anything that comes off that board" is hers.

No one would argue that Reese's offensive game has taken the step forward this season that was hoped. Her numbers are down across the board, including scoring (10.3) and field-goal percentage (36.3) for a Sky team that is just 2-7 through nine games.

While there are plenty of things for everyone on the Sky to improve on amid their slow start, Reese's ability to overcome the constant attempts to dismiss her talent is one of her best skills.

In this particular case, Reese might even be able to make herself more money and get the last laugh against the online trolls.
