Shedeur Sanders Reportedly 'Made an Impression' at Browns Minicamp amid QB Battle
Rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders reportedly acquitted himself well during Cleveland Browns minicamp this week.
During an appearance Saturday on SportsCenter (beginning at the 2:15 mark), ESPN NFL insider Jeremy Fowler discussed Sanders and his performance:

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Fowler noted that Sanders "made an impression," which could give him some momentum entering the start of training camp next month.
Sanders is one of four healthy quarterbacks currently on Cleveland's roster, along with veterans Joe Flacco and Kenny Pickett, and fellow rookie Dillion Gabriel, who was selected in the third round of the 2025 NFL draft.
While many expected Sanders to be a first-round pick, he experienced one of the biggest and most surprising draft free falls in recent memory, dropping all the way to the 144th overall pick in the fifth round.
Rumors and speculation swirled about why Sanders fell, ranging from poor pre-draft interviews to attitude concerns, but he now finds himself with a legitimate opportunity to win the Browns' starting quarterback job regardless.
Fowler said the Browns had a plan for their quarterbacks in minicamp, wanting all of them to practice different types of throws in different situations, and the belief is that they all "answered the bell."
That includes Sanders, who reportedly "put the ball in some tight windows" and "threw with aggressiveness."
After beginning his collegiate career at FCS Jackson State under his head coach and father, Deion Sanders, Shedeur followed Deion to Colorado and had two great statistical seasons for the Buffaloes.
He truly came into his own last season, completing 74.0 percent of his passes for 4,134 yards, 37 touchdowns and 10 interceptions for the 9-4 Buffs en route to finishing eighth in the Heisman Trophy voting and winning the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year Award.
It doesn't appear that any quarterback has a clear leg up on the competition in the Browns' positional battle yet, but Sanders may very well have the highest ceiling of them all, which could help his candidacy significantly since Cleveland has the feel of a rebuilding team.
