NFL Scout Says Baylor QB Sawyer Robertson is 'What Everyone Wants' Drew Allar to Be

Jack MurrayJun 13, 2025

Baylor quarterback Sawyer Robertson is starting to generate buzz as a trendy draft name ahead of the 2025 college football season.

"If you want a dude that's going to come out of nowhere, it's [Robertson]. He's what everyone wants [Penn State's] Drew Allar to be," an AFC scout told ESPN's Matt Miller. "Big, big arm, and he can move."

Robertson has a 6'4'', 210-pound frame and is entering his fourth collegiate season and third at Baylor. He assumed the starting role in 2024 and threw for 3,071 yards with 28 touchdowns and eight interceptions while leading the Bears to an 8-5 record.

The 22-year-old also rushed for 230 yards and six touchdowns. He will now get a chance to build on his first season as a starter and improve his draft stock in a class that could include Texas' Arch Manning, Clemson's Cade Klubnik, South Carolina's LaNorris Sellers and Allar.

While Robertson wasn't a household name in 2024, he did show promise. The Bears could be a contender within the Big 12, and a strong season from Robertson could propel the program to a playoff berth while catapulting Robertson up draft boards.
