Chargers' Jim Harbaugh Gives Health Update on Offseason Heart Procedure, Hip Surgery
Sports fans are accustomed to hearing updates from players about offseason surgeries they had. Sometimes, coaches go under the knife, too.
The Los Angeles Chargers' Jim Harbaugh offered an update Tuesday after he had a cardiac ablation and hip surgery once the 2024 NFL season ended.
"The doctors can't find anything wrong with me. A-grade," he told reporters.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Last October, Harbaugh briefly left the Chargers' game against the Denver Broncos because he began to experience an irregular heartbeat. His heart rate returned to normal and subsequent testing didn't show anything concerning. He quipped that "it would take my heart stopping for me not to be out there on the sideline."
Days after Los Angeles lost to the Houston Texans in the AFC Wild Card Round, the 61-year-old said he intended to have procedures done on his heart and hip with his time off. He had been walking with a noticeable limp on the sidelines at times.
Health issues aside, 2024 was a success for Harbaugh after returning to the pro coaching ranks. The Chargers' 11 wins were their most since 2018.
Playing in the same division as Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs mean L.A. is at a slight disadvantage from the outset, but qualifying for the playoffs again will be the team's goal. Harbaugh having a clean bill of health will only help toward achieving that aim.
