
Brad Marchand Explains 'Emotions Run High' Amid Fights, Penalties in Stanley Cup Final
Florida Panthers center Brad Marchand offered some insight into the flurry of fights and penalties that broke out during Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final against the Edmonton Oilers.
"We're both very competitive teams and very intense, especially this time of year," Marchand told a reporter after the game. "In these games emotions run high and sometimes that's how the game goes."
As the third period wound down and the Florida Panthers cruised to a blowout win over the Edmonton Oilers, tensions finally boiled over. With Florida leading 5-1 and just under 10 minutes remaining in regulation, the gloves came off and chaos erupted as both teams clashed in a flurry of scrums and hard hits.
