When the two teams weren't going at it, it was an offensive display by the Panthers.
Florida got things going early, scoring twice in the first period on goals from Brad Marchand and Carter Verhaeghe. Edmonton answered early in the second when Corey Perry found the net to make it 2-1, but from there, it was all Panthers.
They tacked on two more goals in the second, one from Sam Reinhart and the other from Sam Bennett. Already holding a comfortable lead heading into the third, Aaron Ekblad became the fifth Panther to score, making it a 5-1 lead.
Evan Rodrigues scored the Panthers' third power-play goal of the game in the final minutes of the third just for good measure.
After the win, fans praised Marchand and the Panthers' offense for a dominant performance.
The Oilers were clearly frustrated in Game 3; that much was evident through the slew of penalties and fights throughout the contest. Edmonton will need to regain its composure in the days before Game 4 to avoid going down 3-1.
As for the Panthers, they'll look to continue rattling the Oilers moving forward.
