Alex Cora Talks Red Sox's Plans to Promote Prospect Roman Anthony After Viral HR Video
Following Boston Red Sox prospect Roman Anthony’s viral home run video, manager Alex Cora confirmed that there have been internal discussions about promoting the outfielder.
“It’s just a matter of what we’re going to do, how we’re going to do it, and when we’re going to do it,” Cora said, per The Boston Globe's Tim Healey. “I keep getting the questions and that’s my best answer.”
Cora added it’s “fair” to say the organization talks regularly about the timing of a potential call-up.

The 497-foot grand slam, which left the bat at 115.6 mph, is the longest home run in an affiliated baseball game this season, according to Statcast.
"Got it and didn't really miss it," Anthony said, per the Telegram & Gazette of Worcester. "So, it felt great."
The Red Sox sit at 31-35, battling through a string of injuries while MLB's top prospect remains in the minor leagues.
"The Sox, which are 31-35, 9 1/2 games out of first place, four games back in the wild card, cannot waste more time. Their best defensive alignment would be Anthony in left, Jarren Duran in center and a combination of Ceddanne Rafaela and David Hamilton at second," The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal said on Sunday.
While starting pitching has been a significant issue for the Red Sox this season, they also lead the league in errors—an area that could see immediate improvement with the addition of Anthony, a stellar defensive player.
