Micah Parsons Confirms He'll Attend Cowboys Mandatory Minicamp amid Contract Rumors

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
The four-time Pro Bowler is due to be a free agent in 2026, and he has watched the edge-rusher market climb to record-setting levels. Myles Garrett is averaging $40 million annually from his new contract with the Cleveland Browns, while the Houston Texans' Danielle Hunter and Las Vegas Raiders' Maxx Crosby earn more than $35 million.
Some players in Parsons' position might be inclined to hold out and send a message to the Cowboys. Last summer, teammate CeeDee Lamb made himself scarce until late August, when he and Dallas finally had a breakthrough at the negotiating table.
Prior to Parsons' social media post, head coach Brian Schottenheimer said he "would assume" the star defender will show up to minicamp.
"Micah and I talked a couple days ago," he told reporters. "Again, he's doing a little bit of traveling, but again, everything that he and I have talked about I expect that he would be here. Like I said, I say each and every week Micah and I have had great communication, everything I've asked him to do and vice versa he's followed through on. So I would expect to see him."
Parsons deciding against a holdout would help to turn down the temperature a bit, but his desire for a new contract is clear. And there may come a time when his patience begins to wear thin.
Sooner or later, Dallas will have to write a big check or risk alienating its defensive cornerstone.
