Saquon Barkley Says Eagles Contract a 'No-Brainer' and Chance to 'Expand on My Legacy'
Veteran running back Saquon Barkley didn't have to think too hard when he weighed his options last season and signed with the Philadelphia Eagles.
In the newest episode of his Cold As Balls video series, comedian Kevin Hart asked Barkley about his thought process upon hitting free agency. The three-time Pro Bowler said he wanted to chase a Super Bowl title and "expand on my legacy."

"That was kind of like the biggest thing," he said at the 4:20 mark of the interview. "It was a no-brainer when you look back at it — the team that Philly has and the guys they had on the team, especially the offensive line, being familiar, going against them every year."
It's hard to picture Barkley's decision going any better. He ran for 2,005 yards and 13 touchdowns in the regular season with Philadelphia, earning his first All-Pro nod and being voted the Offensive Player of the Year.
The 28-year-old was the final piece of the Eagles' title puzzle. He had 499 rushing yards and five scores on the ground, three of which came against the Washington Commanders in the NFC title game.
Barkley's old team, meanwhile, slumped to a 3-14 finish. New York Giants general manager Joe Schoen caught plenty of heat for letting the star ball-carrier go as the team had one of the NFL's worst offenses.
Plenty of big free agents prioritize a championship when they decide on a move, be it staying where they are or pursuing a new opportunity. Barkley figures to be the gold standard for what the right combination of team and player can achieve together.
