Carlos Carrasco Reportedly Waived by Yankees 1 Day After Being Called Up from Triple-A
Carlos Carrasco's return to the New York Yankees roster appears to have already come to an end.
The team activated the veteran right-handed pitcher for Sunday's 7-3 win against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Just one day later, Joel Sherman of The New York Post reported that the team had waived him and activated Fernando Cruz from the injured list.

Carrasco was signed to a minor-league deal ahead of the 2025 season and began the year on the major-league roster. He was sent down to Triple-A on May 6 after producing a 5.91 ERA in eight appearances. Sunday was his first elevation.
Carrasco notably did not appear in Sunday's game and was called-up for "pitching depth protection," per Sherman. If no team claims him, Carrasco can elect to head to be sent back to Triple-A.
In the minors, he has made two starts and has a 9.95 ERA in 6.1 innings.
The 38-year-old has 332 career appearances in MLB and could remain a depth arm to help out when injuries arise if he were to stay within the Yankees system. New York is currently 36-22 and leads the AL East by 5.5 games.
