Yankees' Jasson Dominguez Exits vs. Dodgers After Suffering Thumb Injury
New York Yankees left fielder Jasson Dominguez left Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Dodgers with a left thumb contusion, according to the team.
The Yankees said Dominguez suffered the injury while sliding into second base in the fifth inning, per Greg Joyce of the New York Post.
Dominguez appeared to have his sliding glove on his right hand as he reached for the base with his left.

Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
Cody Bellinger pinch-hit in place of Dominguez in the sixth inning. The Yankees were leading 6-1 at the time.
Dominguez got the Yankees on the board in the top of the first, when his single off Dodgers starter Yoshinobu Yamamoto allowed Trent Grisham to score on an error.
He got on base again with a walk in the fifth inning, then stole second before making it home on a DJ LeMahieu single.
Dominguez exited the game having gone 1-for-2 with a walk.
The 22-year-old had slashed .244/.340/.419 with six home runs and 24 RBI heading through 48 games heading into Sunday.
Dominguez battled multiple significant injuries during his 2024 season as the Yankees' top prospect, during which he recovered from September 2023 Tommy John surgery only to miss more time with an oblique injury.
The Yankees will hope to get Dominguez healthy as soon as possible in order to give him more time to develop during his first full season in the majors.
If Dominguez is forced to miss any time, Bellinger could continue to take his place in the outfield. Yankees manager Aaron Boone has repeatedly turned to Bellinger as a defensive replacement for Dominguez so far this season.
