Angel Reese's Final Box Score Stats, Highlights as Sky Beat Wings with Bueckers Out
That’s two in a row for the Chicago Sky — and they’re just getting started!
Angel Reese and the Sky soared to a dominant 94-83 road victory over the Dallas Wings on Saturday.
Fresh off their first win of the season against Dallas on Thursday, 97-92, the Sky improved to 2-4, hoping to build momentum moving forward.
Reese finished with 14 points, nine rebounds and three steals on 4-of-13 shooting from the field, powering Chicago to the win. Ariel Atkins led the charge with 26 points, shooting 8-of-14 from the field and 50 percent from the three-point line.
The Wings, meanwhile, were without their No. 1 overall pick Paige Bueckers, who entered concussion protocol Friday and is expected to miss at least two games. Arike Ogunbowale posted 15 points and NaLyssa Smith contributed 20 points, shooting 50 percent from the field.
Both teams entered Saturday’s game with one win apiece, each eager for a second. With back-to-back wins over Dallas, the Sky reached that mark first, leaving the Wings at 1-6 on the season.
The Sky shot 39 percent from the field in the first half and struggled from beyond the arc, hitting just 28.6 percent on 4-of-14 shooting. Despite those first-half struggles, Chicago still held a 46-43 lead over the Wings at the break.
Reese scored four points in 20 minutes on 1-of-9 shooting, adding five rebounds, three steals and a few dimes on the offensive end. Atkins led the Sky with 14 points, while Smith paced the Wings with 13 points.
Chicago outscored Dallas 20-16 in the third quarter, sparked by a mismatch under the rim that led to an easy bucket from Reese and a late 7–0 run. The Sky carried a seven-point lead into the final 10 minutes.
With an extra boost from Reese in the fourth quarter and clutch three-pointers from Kia Nurse and Atkins — combined with some sharp, 100-level IQ plays from the Sky — Chicago pulled away with a comfortable lead and sealed the win.
The Sky will look to carry their momentum into the week, enjoying seven days off before hosting the Indiana Fever next Saturday.
