Mookie Betts Day-to-Day with Toe Injury, Dodgers Star to Undergo X-Rays
Los Angeles Dodgers star Mookie Betts was ruled out of the team's matchup with the New York Yankees on Friday due to a toe issue, according to Jon Heyman of the New York Post.
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts revealed that Betts suffered the injury by stubbing his toe at home on Wednesday and is set to undergo X-rays, via Heyman.
“As I hear, it’s day-to-day right now,” Roberts said, per ESPN's Alden Gonzalez.

Betts will be replaced by Miguel Rojas at shortstop against New York.
The eight-time All-Star and former American League MVP has remained relatively healthy throughout his Dodgers career despite missing nearly two months in 2024 due to a fractured hand.
Betts suited up in at least 142 games in both 2022 and 2023 while also appearing in 53 of Los Angeles' first 56 games of its 2025 campaign.
In 234 plate appearances this season, he's recorded eight home runs and 31 RBIs to go along with five stolen bases. Betts has posted a .254/.338/.405 slash line as well as a .742 OPS.
If he's forced to miss an extended period of time, it'll be a tough blow to a Dodgers squad that sits atop the National League West standings with a 34-22 record as they continue their World Series defense.
Los Angeles should still have enough firepower to make up for his absence at the plate, leading the majors with a .263 team batting average.
Until Betts is able to return, Rojas will likely continue to start at shortstop.
The Dodgers and Yankees will face off in their first game since the 2024 Fall Classic on Friday at 10:10 p.m. ET.
