Yankees' Aaron Judge Consulted NFL Players About Avoiding Injuries, Career Longevity
New York Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge isn't afraid to canvas a wide range of sources as he seeks to preserve his physical health.
Jorge Castillo of ESPN reported that Judge has sought out the advice of some NFL players to learn about how they have remained healthy and had lengthy careers while playing a grueling sport. He did not reveal any names but hinted that it was focused on players who "play into their 40s."
"Nobody to put on record," Judge told Castillo. "But you see around the sport, there's a lot of guys that play into their 40s and continue to play at a high level and that's kind of something I wanted."

He added: "I invest in, if it's trainers, food, paying for a chef. It may seem like that's an expense you don't need to pay for, but I think it all works out. You get to the back end, if it's going to help me play another 30 games or if it's another three years, I'll take anything."
Judge is hitting .391/.488/.739 with 18 home runs and 47 RBIs in 55 games for the Yankees in 2025. He has played more than 140 games in three of his last four seasons and has won two AL MVPs during that stretch.
He has not missed a game for New York in 2025 and has been the driving force behind the team's 35-20 start. That positive string of availability comes after he dealt with some consistent injuries earlier in his career when he only played more than 140 games in two of his first five seasons.
His efforts to remain healthy and in the Yankees lineup night to night should make the team among the favorites to win the American League pennant again in 2025 and push for their first World Series title since 2009.
