EA's College Football 26 Reveals Gameplay, Dynasty Mode and More Features in Trailer
The first trailer for College Football 26 is finally here.
EA Sports provided a peek Thursday into what to expect from the second installment in its rebooted video game franchise.
Real-life head coaches are here, as shown in the teaser image from Wednesday. More than 300 coaches are represented in the game.
EA Sports also boasted of "Home Field Advantage 2.0." Teams playing away from home will suffer more effects from the Stadium Pulse meter, and home stadiums will have even more details specific to each venue.
EA Sports said there will be a forthcoming Dynasty Deep Dive to give a better taste of how that mode has evolved. One big addition is a trophy room to show off all of the accolades you've collected over the years.
Recruiting has been tweaked as well, with location-based visits now included and the transfer portal being expanded.
Road to Glory will also return, with EA announcing 10 new archetypes to choose from as players begin their journey from high school to the pros.
Don't worry if you have a different system from your friends, either. Online Dynasty will allow for cross-play between PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/X.
In terms of the gameplay, Thursday's trailer showed some of the physicality fans can expect from new tackling animations and changes to the hit stick.
College Football 25 might've been the most highly anticipated sports video game of all time.
Eleven years had passed since EA Sports last released an officially licensed college football game. A generation of fans had lamented the loss of leading their favorite school to glory, while younger gamers simply didn't know what it's like to turn perpetually moribund Kent State into a national powerhouse.
College Football 25 wound up fulfilling the massive hype surrounding it. The game received critical acclaim at launch, and it broke sales records in the United States.
Much like the sport it replicates, the success of CFB25 only serves to raise the bar higher for College Football 26.
"We went into it knowing there was a lot of stuff we couldn't get into the first year," EA Sports senior vice president Daryl Holt said to The Athletic's Chris Vannini in February. "So there's a lot of meat left on the bone."
Thursday's trailer showed some of the features the developers have added to build on last year's foundation.
College Football 26 will release nationwide on July 10, and those who purchase the deluxe edition will have early access starting July 7.
