Tyreek Hill Wants to Prove to Dolphins Teammates He's Still 'One of Them Ones'

Julia StumbaughMay 28, 2025

Tyreek Hill is hoping to move on from the end of his 2024 campaign with the Miami Dolphins.

Hill, who fell short of 1,000 receiving yards last season for the first time since 2019, left the Dolphins' season finale in the fourth quarter and indicated after the Week 18 loss that he wouldn't be returning to the franchise.

"It was tough, man. Obviously, emotions were high," Hill said about the 2024 season finale (h/t David Furones of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. "At the end of the day, I'm just looking to move forward from that.

"Hoping that I can prove myself, and prove to my teammates that I'm still one of them ones chasing 2k still, one of those ones chasing playoff dreams and all of that great stuff."

When asked if he believed he deserved to be a team captain in 2025, Hill answered, "I've got to prove myself."

"This OTAs, training camp, I've got to prove myself. I've got to show up different. The mindset's gotta be different. I don't feel like I deserve it, and if I didn't get it, I wouldn't sweat it, because I put myself in that position," Hill said (h/t the Miami Herald's Omar Kelly.)

Hill decided to play through a right wrist injury for the entirety of the 2024 season despite doctors' recommendations to undergo season-ending surgery, his agent Drew Rosenhaus told ESPN's Marcel Louis-Jacques.

The wide receiver has undergone multiple wrist procedures since the end of the 2024 campaign, including an operation on a ligament issue and a subsequent planned surgery to remove installed screws.

Kelly reported that Hill was visibly limited by his taped right hand during Wednesday's practice, but that Rosenhaus has said he will be ready when the Dolphins begin training camp in July.

The Dolphins will hope to have both him and quarterback Tua Tagovailoa healthy in time for Hill to resume his quest for a 2,000-receiving-yard season in 2025.
