College Football 26 Teases Full Reveal Trailer with Ryan Day, Ohio State Photo

Scott PolacekMay 28, 2025

College football season doesn't officially start until August, but it might as well start Thursday for some fans.

After all, that is when the trailer for EA Sports' College Football 26 will be released ahead of the game's July 10 release date.

EA Sports teased the trailer Wednesday with an image of Ohio State head coach Ryan Day getting ready to lead Jeremiah Smith and the reigning national champion Buckeyes out on the field:

Smith's presence behind Day is not surprising, as the star receiver was also revealed to be one of the cover stars alongside Alabama's Ryan Williams.

All Smith did during his freshman season was post 76 catches for 1,315 yards and 15 touchdowns while helping lead the Scarlet and Gray to the national championship.

He hauled in a combined five touchdowns during College Football Playoff victories over Tennessee, Oregon, Texas and Notre Dame while also catching the 3rd-and-11 in the final minutes against the Fighting Irish that all but clinched the trophy.

Day's presence is also notable, as coaches will be featured in this year's game after they were not in College Football 25.

Last year's game marked the triumphant return of the series for the first time since NCAA Football 14, but there are sure to be some changes in this year's format. The inclusion of coaches has been the most notable difference before the release of the trailer.

And there was no shortage of coaches featured on the Deluxe Edition cover that included Day, Notre Dame's Marcus Freeman, Georgia's Kirby Smart, Oregon's Dan Lanning, Ole Miss' Lane Kiffin and Penn State's James Franklin, among others:

Smith and Williams were also prominently featured on that cover after Colorado's Travis Hunter, Texas' Quinn Ewers and Michigan's Donovan Edwards were on the cover of last year's game. Hunter went on to win the Heisman Trophy, so there is now some pressure on Smith and Williams to keep that streak alive into a second season.

One thing is for sure, both receivers will likely be difficult to stop in the upcoming game. After all, they were nearly impossible to stop on the actual gridiron during their freshmen campaigns.

The real question, then, is whether either or both of them will be a 99 overall.
