Tyrese Haliburton, Pacers Thrill Fans, Push Knicks to Brink of Elimination with G4 Win

Andrew PetersMay 27, 2025

The Indiana Pacers are one win away from reaching their first NBA Finals since 2000.

After blowing a 20-point lead to lose Game 3, the Pacers responded with a 130-121 win over the New York Knicks on Tuesday to take a 3-1 series lead behind an outstanding night from Tyrese Haliburton. They'll have the chance to close things out in New York on Thursday.

New York played well for the most part as Jalen Brunson scored 31 and Karl-Anthony Towns dropped 24, putting pressure on Indiana late, but it wasn't enough on one of the best nights of Haliburton's career.

Haliburton, who was named the most overrated player in the NBA by his peers before the playoffs, continued to show that if anything, he's underrated. The star point guard nearly had a triple-double by the end of the first half and finished with 32 points, 15 assists and 12 rebounds. What's more, Haliburton didn't turn the ball over one time.

He's the only player in Pacers history to have multiple playoff triple-doubles. He's also the third player in NBA history to have 30 points, 15 assists and 10 boards in a game.

Fans were thrilled by the electric performance from Haliburton.

Haliburton was the star of the night, but there were great games all around for Indiana. Pascal Siakam dropped 30 points while Bennedict Mathurin posted 20 points in just 12 minutes off the bench. Aaron Nesmith added 16 points while also playing physical defense and clearly rattling Brunson at times.

The Knicks appeared to have the momentum heading into Game 4 after how things ended in Game 3, but the Pacers quickly took back the momentum on Tuesday. Now, Indiana is on the brink of getting back to the Finals.
