Dodgers' Freddie Freeman, Wife to Donate $1M to Hospital After Son's Treatment in 2024
The Children's Hospital of Orange County helped Freddie Freeman's family tremendously when his son faced a severe case of Guillain-Barré last year, and now the Los Angeles Dodgers star is giving back to the hospital.
Per ESPN's Jeff Passan, Freeman and his wife, Chelsea, plan to donate $1 million to the hospital.
Freeman detailed the impact that CHOC had on his family and noted how "inspiring" it was to see the work being done at the hospital.

“Seeing every room full in the PICU each and every day impacted Chelsea and I deeply," Freeman told Passan. "Getting to know the doctors, nurses and care teams and seeing how they show up each day to bring healing and hope to kids and their families was inspiring. CHOC saved Maximus' life.”
Last July, Freeman stepped away from the team to be with his family after his son, Maximus, was diagnosed with Guillain-Barré syndrome. Maximus was released from the hospital in August after eight days in the ICU. Chelasea shared in March that Maximus is 80 percent recovered.
After the scary week for his family, Freeman went on to lead the Dodgers to the World Series and win World Series MVP, but the biggest win of the year happened at CHOC when the hospital saved his son's life.
