Cristiano Ronaldo Says 'Chapter Is Over' in IG Photo Amid Expiring Al Nassr Contract

One of the best soccer players in the sport's history could be heading to a new club.

Cristiano Ronaldo took to Instagram Monday and wrote: "This chapter is over. The story? Still being written. Grateful to all."

The post was accompanied by a picture of him in an Al Nassr jersey, which is notable since his contract with the Saudi Pro League side expires on June 30.

Ronaldo has been with Al Nassr since the 2022-23 season. He has 24 goals in 29 matches this season after scoring 35 goals in 31 matches last season.

On Thursday, Amanda Langell of Sports Illustrated noted Marca reported that Moroccan team Wydad showed interest in signing the 40-year-old ahead of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup. The tournament starts July 14, so he doesn't have much time to decide if he is willing to transfer.

Wyad clinched their spot in the tournament by winning the 2021–22 CAF Champions League and will face Manchester City, Juventus and Al Ain as part of Group G. Ronaldo played for Juventus earlier in his career.

The legendary forward has suited up for Sporting CP, Manchester United (two different stints), Real Madrid, Juventus and Al Nassr during a career that dates back to the 2002-03 campaign.

His resume includes five Ballon d'Or awards, seven domestic league championships and five Champions League titles. He is one of the best offensive forces in soccer history and is still scoring at a high level even at this stage of his career.

His Instagram post also suggested he isn't looking to retire just yet, as he noted the story is "still being written."

It just remains to be seen where that story will take him next.
