Yankees Reportedly 'Aggressively' Seeking Right-Handed Bat Ahead of MLB Trade Deadline
The New York Yankees are "aggressively" pursuing a right-handed bat—preferably at third base—ahead of the MLB trade deadline, according to USA Today's Bob Nightengale.
The search for a starter comes with a time crunch, as the trade deadline is set to expire on July 30 at 6 p.m. ET.
Jazz Chisholm Jr., the Yankees' third baseman when healthy, is on the 10-day IL, and backups Jorbit Vivas and Oswald Peraza have struggled at the plate this season.

Vivas is hitting just .167 over 18 games, while Peraza holds a .176 average through 31 appearances.
Sitting at 31-20—first in the AL East, second in the American League and fourth in MLB—the Yankees are looking to add a key piece to fuel another World Series push.
New York fell to the Los Angeles Dodgers in a 4-1 series loss in the World Series last season.
Another player the Yankees are eyeing to add to the lineup is Giancarlo Stanton, who has been sidelined all season after injuries to both elbows.
Yankees general manager Brian Cashman told MLB Network Radio that Stanton is nearing a rehab assignment, with the designated hitter possibly returning to live batting practice within the next two weeks.
Behind Aaron Judge, who is batting a career-high .395 with 77 hits, 18 home runs and 46 RBI through 51 games, New York is eager to find its missing link.
