Terry McLaurin Reportedly Skips Commanders Offseason Workout Entering Contract Year
Washington Commanders wide receiver Terry McLaurin, who is entering the final year of his contract, was not present at his team's voluntary offseason workouts Wednesday, per Fox Sports' Jordan Schultz.
McLaurin is on a three year, $68.2 million contract extension that takes him through the 2025 campaign, per Over the Cap.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
McLaurin, who is entering his seventh NFL season, has notched six straight 1,000-yard campaigns. Last year, he formed a great rapport with sensational rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels, catching 82 passes for 1,096 yards and 13 touchdowns. Washington went 12-5, won a pair of playoff games and earned the franchise's first NFC Championship Game berth since the 1991 season.
Needless to say, McLaurin has outperformed his contract and deserves a big payday. The Commanders also simply can't afford to let him hit free agency next offseason, as he's playing an invaluable part of this team's turnaround after Washington largely struggled for three-plus decades before enjoying amazing success in 2024.
There's probably nothing to be concerned about right now, especially with this being a voluntary workout. And one has to imagine that the Commanders understand McLaurin's importance to the team and are set on offering him a suitable extension.
In the end, it's only May, and there's certainly time for the two sides to get something done as the Commanders look to build off a tremendous season and create a sustained period of success in the nation's capital.
