Michael Beasley Reportedly May Seek Trade After His BIG3 Team Drafts Lance Stephenson

Michael Beasley is reportedly not happy with his BIG3 team's decision to draft Lance Stephenson.

Per NBA insider Chris Haynes, Beasley is mulling a trade request from Miami 305 after the team selected Stephenson with the No. 1 pick in last week's draft.

It's unclear why Beasley is so opposed to playing with Stephenson, but it could have something to do with their upcoming one-on-one game. The YouTube series The Next Chapter is set to host a game between Beasley and Stephenson for $100,000 in June.

While Beasley and Stephenson's apparent tension might cause a shakeup of the roster, Miami 305 currently boasts a handful of NBA veterans. Along with Beasley and Stephenson, the team has Mario Chalmers, Reggie Evans and is coached by NBA legend Michael Cooper.

Beasley spent 11 years in the NBA, bouncing around to a few different teams. He averaged 12.4 points per game and his best season came with the Minnesota Timberwolves in 2010-11 when he put up 19.2 points per game. He's been out of the NBA since 2019.

Stephenson played 10 seasons in the NBA, averaging 8.6 points per game while playing for a handful of teams. He last played for the Indiana Pacers in 2022.

Of note, Beasley and Stephenson were teammates on the Los Angeles Lakers during the 2018-19 season. The Purple and Gold missed the playoffs that season after going 37-45 during the regular season.

The revamped BIG3 now features eight teams that are associated with different cities. Each squad will host one week of the regular season, and Miami 305 is one of three expansion teams.
