Lance Stephenson Joins BIG3, Former NBA Guard Picked No. 1 in Draft by Miami 305
Former NBA guard Lance Stephenson, who played 10 years in the league, has joined BIG3 and was selected with the first pick in Thursday's draft by Miami 305, an expansion team.
Stephenson played for eight NBA teams but made his name with the Indiana Pacers, who selected him with the No. 40 overall pick in the 2010 NBA draft. He was an integral part on a Pacers team that made the Eastern Conference Finals in 2013 and 2014.
Stephenson started for both of those Eastern Conference Finals teams. His best season was in 2013-14, when he averaged 13.8 points, 7.2 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game for a 56-win team.
The ex-University of Cincinnati star had three stints with the Pacers, and his last one proved to be his final appearance in the league in 2021-22. He was productive in limited time, averaging 9.3 points in just 18.6 minutes per game (40 contests).
Stephenson is part of a revamped Big3 that now has eight teams. Each team is now associated with a city and will host one week during the regular season. Miami is one of three expansion teams, and it will be coached by ex-Los Angeles Lakers legend Michael Cooper.
The regular season for the league begins on Saturday, June 14, when Chicago's All State Arena hosts Week 1.
