As Barkley Truax of On 3 explained, Sanders started releasing cleats and sneakers under the "Diamond Turf" line in 1993 with an original colorway of red, white and black that resembled the colors of the Atlanta Falcons and San Francisco 49ers.

He also played for the Dallas Cowboys, Washington and Baltimore Ravens later in his career as one of the best cornerbacks in NFL history with a resume that includes two Super Bowl titles, six First-Team All-Pro nods, a Defensive Player of the Year and eight Pro Bowl selections.

The newest Diamond Turf '93s will feature a velcro strap and his nickname of "Prime" on the tongue of the cleat.

It remains to be seen whether the Buffaloes will wear these cleats during the upcoming season, but it would be anything but surprising.

Colorado will look different this year with Sanders' son, Shedeur, suiting up for the Cleveland Browns after the AFC North team selected him in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL draft. Reigning Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter also won't be on the roster after the Jacksonville Jaguars drafted him with the No. 2 overall pick.

Still, the Buffaloes will look to continue to display the improvement they made from Sanders' first season as head coach in 2023 (4-8 overall) to his second in 2024 (9-4 overall).

They start the 2025 season against Georgia Tech on Aug. 29.
