Chiefs Fan Known as ChiefsAholic Sentenced to 32 Years in Prison for 2022 Robbery
The Kansas City Chiefs fan who earned the moniker ChiefsAholic was sentenced to 32 years in prison for a series of bank robberies in 2022 and 2023, according to ESPN's Elizabeth Merrill and David Purdum.
This will run concurrently with the 17 years and six months Xaviar Babudar will serve in federal prison. As part of the federal case, he had pleaded guilty in February 2024 to one count each of bank robbery, money laundering, and transporting stolen property across state lines.
This March, Babudar pleaded guilty in an Oklahoma court to robbery with a firearm, assault while masked or disguised, and removing an electronic monitoring device. Those charges related to a December 2022 robbery at a branch of the Tulsa Teachers Credit Union in Bixby, Oklahoma, in which he used a CO2 pistol to threaten a bank teller and stole $150,000.

All told, Babudar admitted to 11 robberies across seven states.
Tulsa County District Attorney Steve Kunzweiler pushed for the court to give him a life sentence.
"My preference was for him to serve the rest of his life in prison," he said, per Merrill and Purdum. "He caught another break today, but at least he's going to be serving some additional time, and my thoughts are with the victims who continue to be tormented by his violence."
Babudar's case briefly garnered national attention thanks to the persona he built himself through his Chiefs fandom. He had become a recurring character during broadcasts thanks to his distinctive wolf costume.
