Angels' Mike Trout Says He Feels 'Great,' Has No Timetable for Return from Knee Injury
Los Angeles Angels star Mike Trout provided an update on his recovery from a bone bruise in his left knee.
"I don't have a day [for a return], but I feel great," Trout said Saturday, per the Associated Press (h/t ESPN). "I feel good. Talking to the doctors, it's kind of like a scab kind of thing. We're just adding exercises each and every day, and [continuing] if it's feeling good ... but [there's] no soreness, so we'll keep progressing like that."
The three-time American League MVP suffered the injury during Los Angeles' 9-3 loss to the Seattle Mariners on April 30 and was subsequently placed on the 10-day injured list.
He confirmed that he wouldn't be able to return when he's eligible to come off the injured list on Sunday, but was positive regarding his rehab.
"It's been great," Trout said, via ESPN. "I was worried in the beginning, but the sharpness [of pain] I was feeling after that day in Seattle is gone."
The 33-year-old showcased his power at the plate to open his 2025 campaign, recording nine home runs and 18 RBIs in 29 games despite owning a .179/.264/.462 slash line.
Injuries have piled up for Trout in recent years, as he's suited up in at least 100 games during only one season since 2021.
Without the star outfielder, the Angels have still been able to rack up homers due to contributions from Logan O'Hoppe and Taylor Ward. Their 51 home runs as a team are tied for the fifth-most in the majors this season.
Los Angeles sits at the bottom of the AL West standings with a 15-22 record, though.
