Bucs Open to Deion Sanders Watching Shilo At Practice But Colorado HC Isn't Expected
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are comfortable with Colorado head coach Deion Sanders attending their practice to see how his son, Shilo Sanders, does at the professional level.
During an appearance on The JP Peterson Show (h/t JoeBucsFan.com), Buccaneers general manager Jason Licht said that while the team doesn't expect the elder Sanders to be at practice, he would be welcome to.
“We’re not expecting Deion. Deion’s got his own thing going on,” Licht said. “You know, maybe at some point he’ll come and see his son at practice like any father would want to do. I have my own sons out here. No, [Shilo is] gonna be just like anybody else and he’s battling to make the team and there’s no guarantees.”

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
The Buccaneers signed Sanders as an undrafted free agent following the 2025 NFL Draft. The safety played six collegiate seasons, with the last two coming under his father with the Colorado Buffaloes.
Sanders had 67 tackles, one sack and on fumble recovery for a touchdown in his final season at Colorado in 2024. He helped the team go 9-4 and will now hope that he can translate to the NFL level.
It will be a difficult task to crack the Buccaneers roster as the team currently has seven safeties on the roster. However, Sanders will have an opportunity to prove why he should get a chance at a roster spot and his father may or may not be there to see it.
