NHL playoff action continued on Wednesday with a pair of second-round matchups.

The Toronto Maple Leafs took down the Florida Panthers 4-3 to take a 2-0 series lead. The Dallas Stars escaped with a 3-2 win over the Winnipeg Jets later on the road.

Here's a look at the schedule ahead.

Toronto is in control of the series after a big win in Game 2.

There wasn't quite as much offense in Game 2 as there was in Game 1, but both teams still found the net plenty of times. Aleksander Barkov got the Panthers on the board early, hitting a wrist shot off an assist from Seth Jones.

But Florida's 1-0 lead didn't last long as Max Pacioretty found the back of the net later in the first period to tie things up.

Brad Marchand regained the leader for the Panthers with a goal just seconds into the second period.

Florida's lead once again didn't last long. William Nylander scored his third goal of the series to make a 2-2 game.

From there, Max Domi made it a 3-2 lead for Toronto late in the second period.

Anton Lundell scored for Florida to tie it up once again, but Mitch Marner responded just moments later to retake the lead.

Marner's goal proved to be the decider as both teams went scoreless through the final 14 minutes of the game. The Maple Leafs now have a comfortable 2-0 series heading into a pivotal Game 3 on the road.

Dallas Stars 3, Winnipeg Jets 2

The Stars are in control of the series after stealing a win on the road on Wednesday.

Both teams got off to a bit of a slow start offensively, but the goals came in a hurry in the second period. Winnipeg got on the board first as Nino Niederreiter scored just a few minutes into the second period.

Dallas answered just a few minutes later thanks to a goal from Mikko Rantanen. He followed that goal with another later on in the second and then secured the hat trick in just a single period. The natural hat trick was the first in Stars playoff history.

Mark Scheifele cut into the lead before the start of the third period, but it ended up being the last goal of the night for the Jets.

The Jets had arguably better looks at the goal in a scoreless third period, but some outstanding work from Jake Oettinger in the net meant the Stars had just enough to hang on for a win.

The series will stay in Winnipeg for Game 2, where the Jets will try to take advantage of home ice before heading to Dallas.
