Rams' Matthew Stafford Was Reportedly Offered $100M+ Contracts from Giants, Raiders
Matthew Stafford gave up approximately $20 million to stick around with the Los Angeles Rams, according to Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer.
Both the Las Vegas Raiders and New York Giants were willing to offer Stafford more than $100 million over the next two seasons, according to Breer.
Stafford instead agreed to a two-year, $84 million deal in order to remain with head coach Sean McVay and the Rams.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero reported in February that the Rams had given Stafford's agent permission "to speak with other teams about his value."
Rapoport wrote at the time that the Rams hoped that "outside help can assist in gauging the market and seeing his value."
The Rams posted on Feb. 28 that Stafford would be returning for 2025, but didn't finalize the deal until May, according to Rapoport.
According to the details of the finalized contract, Stafford has received $4 million as a roster bonus and will earn another $40 million in guaranteed money next season, per Rapoport.
If he remains on the Rams roster for the 2026 season, he will receive another guaranteed $40 million, Rapoport reported.
Stafford's pay subsequently went from $27 million to $44 million in 2025, and from $31 million to $40 million in 2026.
That's a total raise of $26 million. According to Breer, however, Stafford could have increased that raise to more than $46 million had he taken an offer to move to Las Vegas or New York.
Breer previously reported that the quarterback's decision came down to the fact that Stafford likes living in the Los Angeles area and enjoys playing for McVay.
Apparently, those factors— as well as the more than $364 million in career earnings Stafford has made throughout his NFL career, per Spotrac— may have been enough to convince Stafford to leave money on the table in order to stick around in Southern California.
