Patriots 2025 NFL Schedule Released for Drake Maye, Stefon Diggs, Mike Vrabel's Season
It's a new era in New England, again.
The 2024 season was the first since 2000 that Bill Belichick wasn't the New England Patriots head coach and 2024 No. 3 pick Drake Maye was starting his NFL career. After a second consecutive 4-13 season and another dismissal at head coach, the Patriots will have a significantly different look and some increased hope for 2025 and beyond.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value ๐
Jerod Mayo is out after one season and former Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Vrabel is the new head coach and he brought in former Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels to run the offense.
With many new faces around the building, New England hopes it can make a big jump in the AFC East.
Analysis
The Patriots underwent a major makeover this offseason.
New England started free agency off by signing linebackers Harold Landry and Robert Spillane and cornerback Carlton Davis. Then the first big splash came when the team inked defensive tackle Milton Williams to the largest contract in franchise history.
The front office also added wide receiver Mack Hollins and offensive tackle Morgan Moses before landing Stefon Diggs as Maye's new No. 1 target.
The Patriots also produced a strong draft class that includes the likes of offensive tackle Will Campbell, running back TreVeyon Henderson and wide receiver Kyle Williams.
Those players join Maye and third-year cornerback Christian Gonzalez as the key pillars of a burgeoning young core in Foxborough.
Pivotal Matchups
While 2024 was trying for the Pats, the last-place finish did set the team up with a less challenging schedule, at least at first glance.
Eleven of the Patriots' 17 opponents finished below .500 in 2024. This includes two games against both the Miami Dolphins and New York Jets. Going at least .500 in a division that is wide open behind the Buffalo Bills would be a major step in the right direction.
Outside of the division, claiming victories over teams in similar situations like the Cleveland Browns, Tennessee Titans and New York Giants would help push the Pats closer to postseason contention.
While actually reaching the playoffs could be a lot to ask of a team that is 8-26 over the last two seasons, playing meaningful games in December and January is an attainable goal given the significant talent influx to the roster and a schedule littered with beatable foes.
