Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray Hyped by NBA Fans as Nuggets Beat Harden, Clippers in G5
The momentum lies with the Denver Nuggets after a dominant 131-115 win over the Los Angeles Clippers on Tuesday.
The Nuggets, who escaped Game 4 with a win thanks to a buzzer-beating dunk from Aaron Gordon, made it a 3-2 series with Tuesday's win.
After a quiet night from Jamal Murray last time out, the Nuggets star had his best performance of the series so far in Game 5. He put up 43 points on 17-of-26 from the field and 8-of-14 from deep. It marked Murray's 19th playoff game with 30 or more and he passed Denver legend Alex English for the second-most 30-point playoff games in Nuggets history.
Nikola Jokić had a quiet game for his standards, but he still notched a triple-double with 13 points, 12 assists and 10 rebounds. Russell Westbrook also put up some big minutes off the bench with 21 points.
After the win, there was plenty of hype for Murray and the Nuggets.
While Murray doesn't regularly have scoring outbursts like he did on Tuesday, he's consistently stepped up when the Nuggets need him most, and he's one of the biggest reasons why Denver has found so much success in recent years.
Now, Murray will look to keep his hot hand heading into Game 6 on Thursday and potentially close out the series with a win.
