Giants' Plan for Jaxson Dart Reportedly Will be 'Similar to' Bills with Josh Allen
New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll was the offensive coordinator for the Buffalo Bills between the 2018-21 seasons, coinciding with Josh Allen's first four years in the NFL.
So he's familiar with developing a young quarterback, which will be New York's task with Jaxson Dart.
According to ESPN's Jordan Raanan, "The Giants drafted Dart in the first round and seem OK with him sitting and learning for a year. Daboll talked about how he'll get mostly third-team reps throughout the spring and summer. There will be a developmental plan similar to what they did with Allenย in Buffalo. In the meantime,ย Russell Wilsonย is the starter andย Jameis Winstonย is the likely backup, with Tommy DeVitoโthe veteran who knows the offense bestโentering his third season to provide support."

Jaguars' Hypothetical Alvin Kamara Trade Offer
One major difference is that Allen started 11 games in his rookie seasonโand struggled quite a bit, throwing 10 touchdowns and 12 interceptions while completing just 52.8 percent of his passes, though he did rush for 631 yards and eight scoresโwhile Dart is going to spend the season on the bench.
That will give him valuable time to learn the ropes under a pair of veterans in Wilson and Winston, with the hope that he'll be ready to take over as the starter in 2026. Nobody expects Dart to become Allen, of course, but the Giants are hoping they've found their quarterback of the future.
