Cowboys Reportedly 'Were Prepared' to Draft Tetairoa McMillan Before Panthers Took WR
The Dallas Cowboys were reportedly targeting wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan in the 2025 NFL draft before he was selected by the Carolina Panthers.
According to ESPN's Todd Archer, the Cowboys were "prepared" to draft McMillan with the No. 12 overall pick before Carolina added him at No. 8.
Dallas selected Alabama guard Tyler Booker at No. 12 instead.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
McMillan is coming off a stellar senior season at Arizona, hauling in 84 passes for 1,319 yards and eight touchdowns while averaging 109.9 receiving yards per game.
The Cowboys entered the draft with a need for a complementary option alongside star wideout CeeDee Lamb in their passing attack but didn't end up selecting any wide receivers.
Team owner Jerry Jones revealed that the door is still open regarding a potential free-agent addition to Dallas' wide receiver room following the draft.
"It definitely was a big-time thought, but the train has not left the station if improvement is needed from what we've got on campus," Jones said Saturday, via NFL.com's Kevin Patra.
Lamb racked up 1,194 yards for the Cowboys in 2024, but no other receiver reached 700 yards.
Dallas traded a fourth-round pick for Jonathan Mingo in the middle of its 2024 campaign, but he recorded a mere five catches for 46 yards in eight games following the swap.
After missing out on McMillan, the Cowboys will rely on a group consisting of Mingo, Jalen Tolbert, KaVontae Turpin, Jalen Brooks and Ryan Flournoy to step up next to Lamb in 2025.
