Aaron Gordon Stuns NBA Fans with Buzzer-Beater as Jokic, Nuggets Beat Harden, Clippers
Aaron Gordon has brought the Denver Nuggets first-round series to a 2-2 tie.
Gordon scored a buzzer-beating dunk after a missed Nikola Jokić shot to give Denver a 101-99 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers and tie the series.
While the Nuggets were happy to get the win, Denver should not have needed a buzzer-beater to win. After entering halftime with a 50-48 lead, a 35-17 run in the third quarter put Denver up big heading into the fourth.
The Clippers then turned the gas on and a 12-0 run in the final minutes actually put them ahead for a brief moment. The score would eventually be knotted at 99 when Jokić made his attempt and Gordon was able to be in the right place at the right time.
Jokić led the way for the Nuggets with 36 points, 21 rebounds and eight assists. Christian Braun and Michael Porter Jr. each chipped in 17 points while Jamal Murray had 13 and Gordon had 14.
Kawhi Leonard led the Clippers with 24 points while Norman Powell had 22. Ivica Zubac had 17 points and 11 rebounds while James Harden had 15 points and 11 assists.
Fans took to social media to hype up Gordon's shot and project the Nuggets chances to win the series.
The Nuggets can celebrate the win and will get to head back to Ball Arena for a crucial Game 5.
That game is set for April 29 and will tip-off at 10 p.m. ET.
