Rob Gronkowski Praises Patriots HC Mike Vrabel, Stefon Diggs and Denies Coaching Buzz
Rob Gronkowski is optimistic about the future of the New England Patriots—but it’s one that does not include him.
With Patriots legend Mike Vrabel returning to Foxborough as head coach after stints with the Cleveland Browns as a consultant and the Tennessee Titans as head coach, Gronkowski is feeling more hopeful than ever about the team's direction.
“It’s special,” Gronkowski said of the Vrabel hire, per TMZ Sports. “It got the fans excited, it got the Kraft family excited as well.”

Jaguars' Hypothetical Alvin Kamara Trade Offer
Though Gronkowski just missed sharing the field with Vrabel—who last played for the Patriots two seasons before Gronk arrived—the former linebacker was a key figure in the team’s defense for eight years.
The excitement doesn’t stop there. New England also made a major splash in free agency, adding star wide receiver Stefon Diggs—another move Gronkowski sees as a game-changer for a team that finished 4-13 last season.
“It’s really good for the New England Patriots because they need that number one wide receiver,” he continued.
Still, even with the Patriots seemingly turning a corner, Gronkowski has no interest in stepping back onto the field—or into a coaching role. His current lifestyle is just "too good."
