Warriors' Jimmy Butler Says Steph Curry Is 'Going to Be the Reason We Do Win It All'

Golden State Warriors forward Jimmy Butler III said Stephen Curry is “going to be the reason we do win it all” following their 95-85 Game 1 victory over the No. 2 seed Houston Rockets on Sunday.

"We all know that, but we got to protect him at all costs," Butler III continued.

Butler III, likening Curry to "Batman," was visibly in disbelief after Curry drained a quick-release 26-foot three-pointer early in the fourth quarter.

The duo combined for 56 points in the win, with Curry finishing with 31 points, six rebounds, three assists and a steal, while Butler III added 25 points, seven rebounds, six assists and five steals.

Curry was lights out, shooting 5-of-9 from beyond the arc and 12-of-19 overall, while Butler III went 10-of-19 from the field in the win.

With the victory on Sunday, the Dubs have won their first series opener since 2022 in the Western Conference Finals against the Dallas Mavericks.
