
Derrick White, Jaylen Brown, Celtics Applauded by Fans for Beating Magic in Game 1
The Boston Celtics took over in the second half of the team's Game 1 clash with the Orlando Magic in the playoffs, winning by a final score of 103-86.
Led by 46 combined points from Derrick White and Jaylen Brown, the Celtics outscored the Magic 55-37 in the second half after facing a one-point deficit at halftime.
White was stellar on both ends of the floor, shooting 10-of-18 from the field and 7-of-12 from three-point territory. He also added four rebounds, two assists, two blocks and one steal.
Fans were impressed with his performance.
Brown didn't operate in a high-volume scoring role on Sunday, but he was still a key contributor for the Celtics.
He finished with 16 points on 6-of-14 shooting to go along with five rebounds, two assists and two steals.
For Orlando, Paolo Banchero scored a game-high 36 points while grabbing 11 rebounds and dishing out four assists. Franz Wagner chipped in with 23 points and five assists of his own, but no other member of the Magic recorded more than seven points.
As the Celtics prepare for Game 2, their championship defense got off to a strong start on Sunday.
