Tyrese Proctor Declares for 2025 NBA Draft After Duke's Final Four Loss vs. Houston
Duke guard Tyrese Proctor declared for the 2025 NBA draft on Friday, the school announced.
Proctor has spent all three years of his college career with the Blue Devils, developing into a deadly long-range shooter.
He helped Duke finish with a 35-4 record during its 2024-25 campaign, advancing to the Final Four of the NCAA tournament before ultimately falling to Houston.
Duke head coach Jon Scheyer congratulated Proctor following the announcement.
"For me, I couldn't be more proud of Tyrese with what he's done this season but also so excited for him with this next step that he's going to make," Scheyer said in a video posted by the school. "It's time for him to chase that NBA dream."
Proctor earned All-ACC third team honors for his 2024-25 season on the Blue Devils. He averaged 12.4 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game while shooting 45.2 percent from the field and 40.5 percent from three-point territory.
The junior connected on 2.3 triples per game, the fourth-highest average among all ACC players.
Proctor dropped a mere seven points on 2-of-8 shooting against Houston in Duke's Final Four defeat, but he played a large role in the team's prior success throughout the tournament. He averaged 17.0 points per game while shooting 64.0 percent from three in his first four 2025 March Madness appearances.
In the latest mock draft from Bleacher Report's Jonathan Wasserman, Proctor was projected to head to the Washington Wizards with the No. 40 overall pick.
While he had the opportunity to return to Duke for his senior season, the 21-year-old is preparing to navigate through the pre-draft process instead.
