Luka Doncic's Phone He Threw After Finding Out About Lakers Trade Revealed in Video
Luka Dončić revealed Friday the visceral reaction he had when he learned the Dallas Mavericks traded him to the Los Angeles Lakers in February.
During an interview with ESPN's Malika Andrews, Dončić's business manager showed off a broken cellphone, and Dončić divulged that he had thrown the phone upon being informed of the trade:

Dončić said he felt "sadness" and "shock" when he found out he was traded, adding that his "heart was broken."
The Mavs and Lakers shook the foundation of the NBA in early February when they agreed to a deal that sent Dončić, Maxi Kleber and Markieff Morris to L.A. in exchange for Anthony Davis, Max Christie and a 2029 first-round pick.
There were no whispers of a potential Dončić trade before then, and there was no reason to expect one to happen based on his recent history of success.
In addition to being a five-time All-Star, Dončić finished third in the NBA MVP voting and led the Mavericks to the NBA Finals just last season.
The 26-year-old superstar has made an instant impact in Los Angeles, averaging 28.2 points, 8.1 rebounds and 7.5 assists in 28 regular-season games with the Lakers.
Dončić meshed well with LeBron James and helped the Lakers finish as the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference with a 50-32 record.
He even got to exact some revenge on his former team last week, scoring a game-high 45 points in the Lakers' 112-97 road win over the Mavs.
Things immediately went wrong for the Mavericks after the trade, as All-Star guard Kyrie Irving suffered a season-ending knee injury and Davis got hurt in his first game with Dallas.
AD has since returned, though, and he helped the Mavericks qualify for the postseason play-in tournament.
On Friday, the Memphis Grizzlies will host the Mavericks with the winners moving on to face the top-seeded Oklahoma City Thunder in the first round of the playoffs as the No. 8 seed.
It will likely take multiple years to determine how the trade worked out for both sides, but there is no question that Dončić has shaken off his initial shock and further cemented himself as one of the best players in the NBA.
