Chiefs Reportedly 'Actively Looking to Trade Up in Round 1' After Super Bowl 2025 Loss
The Kansas City Chiefs reportedly may be looking to make a move up in the 2025 NFL draft.
Matt Miller of ESPN reported that the Chiefs are "looking to trade up" in the first round from their current spot at No. 31.
I've heard that the Kansas City Chiefs are actively looking to trade up in Round 1," Miller wrote. "They signed left tackle Jaylon Moore in free agency but were otherwise quiet, opting to re-sign their own versus hitting the open market. A move up in Round 1 would likely be for a long-term offensive tackle solution; I heard the goal would be to move in front of the Houston Texans (No. 25) and Los Angeles Rams (No. 26) if the Chiefs like a specific left tackle still on the board."

2025 Draft Picks Ready For Leap 🐸

Jaguars' Hypothetical Alvin Kamara Trade Offer
The Chiefs went 15-2 in 2024 and fell in Super Bowl LIX to the Philadelphia Eagles. Kansas City was pushing for a third consecutive Super Bowl title and has reached the game in five of the last six seasons.
Despite the success, the offensive line was not up to par in the Super Bowl loss and that exposed a flaw on the roster. Signing Moore was a great first step, but adding depth in the draft would also be a worthy investment.
The trade could allow the Chiefs to target a player like Josh Simmons, who is rated as the No. 2 offensive tackle and the No. 25 overall player in the class by Bleacher Report's NFL Scouting Department.
The first round of the 2025 NFL draft is set for April 24 in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
