Jaxson Dart to Browns, Tyler Shough to Giants in Mel Kiper, Yates 2025 NFL Mock Draft
ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr. and Field Yates had the Cleveland Browns and New York Giants taking quarterbacks a little later than expected in their newest 2025 NFL mock draft.
The pair projected the Browns to trade up to the No. 29 pick to land Ole Miss star Jaxson Dart, while the Giants selected Louisville's Tyler Shough at No. 34.
Shough is certainly the bigger wild card.

2025 Draft Picks Ready For Leap 🐸

Jaguars' Hypothetical Alvin Kamara Trade Offer
The mid-to-late stages of the first round appears to be Dart's ceiling. With Miami's Cam Ward and Colorado's Shedeur Sanders widely considered to be the top two QBs available, it's a crapshoot after that. Dart only ranks 57th overall on Bleacher Report's big board, but the positional value of quarterbacks could boost him up into Day 1.
Cleveland grabbed Colorado two-way star Travis Hunter with the second pick. Jumping back into the first round would allow the team to get a potential long-term solution under center without reaching too much.
It would be quite the rise for Shough if he managed to sneak into the early part of the second round. He ranks 116th overall on the B/R big board and is the seventh-best signal-caller.
This is a prospect who will turn 26 in September after spending seven years in college and basically had one good year as a starter, largely due to injuries. He threw for 3,195 yards, 23 touchdowns and six interceptions with Louisville in 2024.
That said, Shough may be the most overlooked QB in the 2025 class.
The Athletic's Ted Nguyen argued he possesses "first-round-type ability."
"He has a lightning-quick release and a strong arm," Nguyen wrote before eventually comparing Shough to four-time Pro Bowler Derek Carr. "He's a rotational thrower and doesn't need much space in the pocket to throw accurately. He throws a beautiful deep ball and can zip passes into tight windows with velocity."
Having signed both Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston, the Giants are seemingly in a good position to gamble on a prospect who's more of a long-term project. They don't need a rookie to come in and start right away.
Head coach Brian Daboll and general manager Joe Schoen are probably both on the hot seat, though. That gives them an incentive to take a quarterback who can make an immediate impact.
