NBA Reportedly Eyes London, Berlin To Host Regular-Season Games in 2025-26
The NBA reportedly already has some ideas for its international games next season.
League insider Marc Stein reported, "Word is Berlin and London have emerged as European favorites to host NBA regular-season games" during the 2025-26 campaign. Stein added that Manchester "has also been in consideration," but right now it appears that London "is more likely."
The NBA has visited London many times throughout the years, including for regular-season games. However, the league had previously only played exhibitions in its rare trips to Berlin.

This is a part of the NBA's continued effort to establish a foothold in Europe. As Stein noted, the league "staged January games in Paris in each of the past three seasons," including two this year when French phenom Victor Wembanyama led the San Antonio Spurs against the Indiana Pacers. The two teams split the series, but Wembanyama put on a show with 50 combined points over the pair of outings.
Last month, NBA commissioner Adam Silver revealed that the league is exploring a partnership with FIBA that will create a European league potentially consisting of 16 teams. 12 of those teams would be permanent members, and four spots will be left open to move in and out through qualifying. The league would utilize a salary cap system and challenge the EuroLeague for basketball supremacy across the pond.
"We feel now is the time to move to that next stage," Silver said at the time, per The Athletic's Mike Vorkunov. "At our board meeting today there was enthusiastic support from our club owners about continuing to explore this opportunity."
