“I’m there. I’d say I’m good,” Hutchinson said. (43:38) “I’ve got my last evaluation tests when I get back — I leave today and I go back tomorrow to the rehab — I’m gonna finish those evals and once I knock them out of the park, I’ll be on my way and done with rehab. It was a long process, I’ll tell you that.”
Hutchinson had his 2024 season limited to just five games after he suffered a fractured tibia and fibula. Prior to the injury, he had recorded 19 total tackles, 17 quarterback hits and 7.5 sacks.
He had previously completed two healthy seasons after being selected with the No. 2 pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, earning a Pro Bowl nod in 2023. He has 28.5 career sacks and is a game breaker for a strong Detroit team.
The Lions went 15-2 last season and earned the No. 1 seed in the NFC, even with Hutchinson missing so much time. They felt his absence in their Divisional Round loss to the Washington Commanders and will hope that his presence on the edge strikes fear in opposing offenses in 2025.
