Anthony Davis Called Out by Fans After Mavs' Loss in 1st Game vs. Lakers Since Trade
Two stars were hoping to put together big revenge games on Wednesday as the Los Angeles Lakers took on the Dallas Mavericks.
Luka Dončić dropped 45 points, eight rebounds and six assists as he guided the Lakers to a 112-97 win over the Mavericks in his first game back in Dallas since the blockbuster trade that shocked NBA fans earlier this year.
The player he was traded for didn't get the same kind of revenge against his former squad.
Anthony Davis finished with 13 points, 11 rebounds and six assists. It wasn't a bad night by any means, but it wasn't comparable to what Dončić did against the Mavs.
Fans called out Davis for underperforming and failing to lead his new team to a win over the Lakers.
Davis has already had some great performances in a Mavs' uniform and will have even more in the future, but it wasn't his night on Wednesday as he looked to get revenge.
Now he'll look to put his first matchup against his former team behind him and focus on getting his team into the postseason.
