Mavs' Luka Doncic T-Shirt Giveaway for Return with Lakers Revealed in Photo
After the Dallas Mavericks made the stunning decision to trade Luka Dončić two months ago, they're rolling out the red carpet for the five-time All-Star's return to American Airlines Center on Wednesday.
The Mavs are giving T-shirts to fans for Wednesday's game against the Los Angeles Lakers with the message "thank you so much" written in Slovenian to honor Dončić.

The shirt is just one part of what the Mavericks have planned for Dončić's first game in Dallas as a visiting player.
ESPN's Tim MacMahon reported the team is planning to show a Dončić tribute video on Wednesday night to provide fans in attendance "a final opportunity to savor all of his accomplishments in a Mavs uniform—and mourn not getting more."
Wednesday's matchup figures to feature one of the most unique in-game environments in sports history. Mavericks fans held a funeral outside American Airlines Center on Feb. 2 as an homage to Dončić's seven years with the organization.
Fans have been ejected from Mavs home games for protesting the front office in the aftermath of the trade.
Dončić is almost certainly going to be treated like a returning hero by the Mavericks fanbase, even though he will be wearing purple and yellow.
"It’s going to be a lot of emotions for me," Dončić told reporters about returning to Dallas.
The Mavericks acquired Dončić in a draft-day trade with the Atlanta Hawks in 2018. He appeared in 422 games over seven seasons with the club, leading them to the NBA Finals last season.
Dončić's five appearances on the All-NBA team are the second-most in Mavs history, trailing only Dirk Nowitzki (12).
The Lakers and Mavericks will tip off at 7:30 p.m. ET from American Airlines Center on Wednesday night.
