Giants Reportedly Not 'In Love' With Shedeur Sanders Amid 2025 NFL Draft Rumors
The New York Giants reportedly aren't enamored with the idea of using the No. 3 overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft on Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders.
According to ESPN's Jordan Raanan, one source close to the Giants said they don't believe the organization is "in love with" Sanders, which figures to shape their strategy early in the draft.
Raanan added that "some in the organization are working under the premise that" they will use the No. 3 overall pick on either Colorado cornerback/wide receiver Travis Hunter or Penn State pass-rusher Abdul Carter before taking a quarterback on Day 2 or late in the first round following a potential trade up.

2025 Draft Picks Ready For Leap ๐ธ

Jaguars' Hypothetical Alvin Kamara Trade Offer
New York went 3-14 last season, and poor quarterback play was perhaps the biggest reason why.
The Giants released Daniel Jones after a 2-8 start, prompting them to utilize Drew Lock and Tommy DeVito under center the rest of the way.
General manager Joe Schoen reshaped the quarterback room via free agency, signing veterans Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston to compete for the starting job in 2025.
Those signings suggest the Giants don't have to force an early quarterback pick in the draft, although they clearly still need a long-term answer at the position.
With all signs pointing toward the Tennessee Titans taking Miami quarterback Cam Ward with the No. 1 overall pick, the Giants could have a tough decision to make at No. 3.
Assuming the Browns take one of Hunter or Carter, the Giants could either take whoever is left between them, or they could go for a quarterback like Sanders even if it is widely considered a reach, much like the selection of Jones was several years ago.
Sanders, who is the son of Pro Football Hall of Fame cornerback and current University of Colorado head football coach Deion Sanders, enjoyed two highly productive seasons in Boulder.
After completing 69.3 percent of his passes for 3,230 yards, 27 touchdowns and three interceptions in 2023, Sanders took another step forward with the Buffaloes last season.
Sanders completed 74.0 percent of his passing attempts for 4,134 yards, 37 touchdowns and 10 picks en route to finishing eighth in the Heisman Trophy voting and winning Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year honors.
Despite his production, Sanders seemingly isn't being viewed as a slam-dunk, top-five pick in the same vein as Ward.
The latest BR NFL Scouting Department mock draft has Sanders falling to the New Orleans Saints at No. 9, while the latest big board has him ranked as the No. 2 quarterback and No. 23 overall player in the class.
Sanders is tabbed by the BR NFL Scouting Department as the most accurate and most pro-ready quarterback in the class, so there is no question that he has some attractive qualities.
However, the question remains whether there is a big enough gap between Sanders and other quarterbacks such as Jaxson Dart, Jalen Milroe and Tyler Shough to justify taking Sanders third overall rather than waiting to take someone from the next tier on Day 2.
